One UI 7 is set to arrive for Galaxy S-Series models, including the Galaxy S21, S22, S23, and S24. While new devices like the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 have already been launched, many users of the earlier models are still anticipating the updated Samsung software.
Despite Samsung’s commitment to providing a long-term software update policy, delays can lead to user frustration. For those in the United States, One UI 7 will officially roll out on April 10, while users outside the U.S. can expect to receive it a few days earlier, on April 7.
The update brings a range of features worth looking forward to. One of the key changes includes slightly redesigned icons and new widgets that offer various shapes and designs for Samsung apps.
A new vertical app drawer will be introduced, although it can switch to a horizontal layout if you choose custom sorting—a change that some may find cumbersome. Notifications and quick toggles will now be separated, enhancing the user experience by allowing easier access.
Other noteworthy features are the Now Bar, a persistent widget similar to the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, and an updated AI select, which automatically suggests actions based on user behavior. The camera app will also receive an overhaul to ensure a cleaner and more user-friendly design.
AI enhancements extend to searching within the Samsung Gallery and Settings, with improved intelligent suggestions paving the way for faster and more intuitive navigation. While fine-tuning of visual elements such as the quick toggles menu has received some criticism, the overall update presents a modernization of the user interface.
Although users may not find groundbreaking changes, One UI 7 provides a fresh feel, emphasizing user-friendliness. Are you looking forward to trying out the new features?
