In the first half of the year, the availability of flagship Android tablets is expected to be quite limited. Samsung’s next powerful offerings are scheduled to launch later this fall, leaving potential buyers with few alternatives to Apple’s iPad. Currently, the only two tablets known to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets are Oppo’s Pad 4 Pro and the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro. The Oppo Pad 4 Pro is anticipated to launch around April, with the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro set for announcement shortly after, likely by June.
Reports suggest that both devices will share similar specifications but may target different markets. Reliable leaker Digital Chat Station has provided insights into the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro, tailored for extensive gaming sessions. Expected to carry the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset found in the Oppo device, the Pad 2 Pro will likely offer impressive specifications with options including 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of internal storage. The design is also noteworthy; while not as large as Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 FE+, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro features a sizable 13.2-inch LCD display with a sharp 3.4K resolution.
On the camera front, it is rumored to include a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Additionally, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro might boast a robust 10,000 mAh battery, supporting fast charging at either 67W or 80W. OnePlus is still evaluating the optimal charging speed for stability purposes. While Digital Chat Station did not specify the exact launch date, it is anticipated that the Pad 2 Pro will be released by June, possibly alongside the Oppo Pad 4 Pro.
