If you’re in the market for a business laptop priced between $1,050 and $1,200, you’ll be pleased to learn that Dell has recently launched its 14 Plus and 16 Plus series, both of which feature 2-in-1 models. These laptops were unveiled at CES a few weeks ago and can now be purchased directly from Dell’s website. The base prices start at $1,100 for the 14 Plus, $1,200 for the 16 Plus, and $1,050 for their respective 2-in-1 models.
Be aware, however, that selecting higher-spec hardware can increase the final price. According to Notebookcheck, even the base configurations are quite impressive, ensuring that even the most economical options cater adequately to office workers. Dell describes the 14 Plus 2-in-1 model as offering “versatile portability and powerful performance with built-in AI,” while the 16 Plus is marketed as a “powerful PC with built-in AI.”
All four models are powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake V-series processors and include a minimum 1200p IPS display, delivering a resolution of 1920 x 1200, featuring vibrant colors and wide viewing angles. They can be outfitted with up to the Core Ultra 9 288V and 32 GB of soldered RAM, which means the memory is fixed and cannot be upgraded. Notably, the two 16-inch models come with a standout 2.5K mini-LED HDR600 display, which offers enhanced resolution, brightness, and contrast for a more immersive viewing experience, complemented by a smooth 90Hz refresh rate.
In an exciting change, Dell is simplifying its laptop naming conventions. As of early 2025, the company will phase out traditional names like Latitude, Inspiron, and XPS in favor of simpler labels such as “Plus” and “Pro,” aiming to make the shopping experience easier for consumers. Fortunately, the distinctive Dell design remains unchanged for those who appreciate it.
